SiteOne Landscape Supply

Hannah Burdett, Agricultural Operations Management Student

What was involved/what was your role during your internship?

I was a Sales Intern for SiteOne this summer and worked primarily with the sales team and customer
experience team. This position was unique because each week could look a little bit different. I spent time
with sellers out on the road; meeting plenty of different customers from lawn maintenance business
owners to golf course superintendents to homeowners with multimillion dollar homes. I also spent time
working to inform and educate customers on their online account access and write up reports on overall
success rate and customer responses.

What was the best/your favorite part about completing this internship?

My favorite part of this internship was that I was able to narrow down what I was interested in long term
and the non-negotiables of what I will look for in a company post-grad.

What are the benefits of an internship?

At its core, summer internships put you into a professional setting to practice what you have been learning
in class. It is a great experience to learn industry specific skills as well as professional skills like
communication and organization.

Why would you recommend internships to other students?

Internships help you grow as a student and person. I get to go back to school with a more narrow idea of
what I want to focus on in my last year and I feel more comfortable with myself and my skills in the
workplace.
