Previous Internships

This summer, Nyssa worked with Bayer Crop Science as a Sales Intern with the Southeast Crop Protection team. Nyssa's territory stretched over three states: including Florida, Georgia, and Alabama, and responsibilities included understanding and assisting the local team in sales of crop protection products and services, building relationships with customers and retailers to successfully satisfy their needs and expectations, and completing a marketing project to deepen knowledge that pertains to the demographic of local dealers.

This summer, Kennedy worked as a water and wastewater intern and was able to secure a full-time job for the Spring after she graduates! She also was lucky enough to attend the Florida Section Meeting and the Annual International Meeting for ASABE!

Sales Intern at SiteOne

Hannah Burdett

Hannah was a Sales Intern for SiteOne this summer and worked primarily with the sales team and customer experience team. This position was unique because each week could look a little bit different. Hannah spent time with sellers out on the road; meeting plenty of different customers from lawn maintenance business owners to golf course superintendents to homeowners with multimillion dollar homes. She also spent time working to inform and educate customers on their online account access and write up reports on overall success rate and customer responses.

Jacob worked on innovation/renovation, sustainability, and optimization projects under the Bakery Sweets and Global Brands Division as a technical packaging co-op at the largest food and beverage company in the world! As the packaging lead on many projects, Jacob worked cross-functionally to develop primary and secondary packaging solutions while also communicating with and aiding in external suppliers.

During her internship, Brissa worked as a Soil Conservation Intern, She spent the summer learning about NRCS cost-share programs that help private landowners conserve the water, soil, and other natural resources on their lands. Brissa enjoyed meeting with producers and seeing how everyone worked together in different ways towards the goal of production.

During her internship, Josie learned under the family and Consumer Science Agent, the 4-H Agent, and the Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent in Sumter County. During her internship experience, some of Josie’s activities included communicating directly with local farmers, teaching food safety practices, working with 4-H kids, and helping plant 36 fruit trees in a community garden.

Ag-Pro Companies

Carson Ostrum

During his internship, Carson spent two weeks learning/shadowing the sales team where he went on sales calls and learned the ins/outs of selling heavy machinery from a handful of salesmen. Carson also spent two weeks within the service and parts department, learning how to handle service orders and provide great customer service to in-store customers.

Kymanox

Ayla Sage

During her internship, Ayla served as an Engineering Project Specialist. Although she was originally placed in the Project Management group, Ayla had the opportunity to work with each subteam of Kymanox's sectors: Project Management, Validation, Process Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Analytical Sciences.

aha Pure Foods

Alex DiCairano

For her internship, Alex served as a team member at aha Pure Foods, a plant-based foods company in Gainesville, Florida. During this time, she worked on product certification, sales, marketing, product development, and operations.

Walther Farms

Kip Jedlicka

Kip worked as an assistant field manager during his internship with Walther Farms. This role involved three different aspects of potato production including lab duties, line, and field duties, and agronomy duties.

USDA Farm Service Agency

Beverly Velazquez

Through her internship, Beverly was a part of a comprehensive developmental program intended to provide her with experience in her desired agricultural field. Her work involved various components of on-the-job experience, mentorship, and training.

Nestle USA

Jonathan Wagner

Jonathan served as a packaging engineering co-op on the innovation team at Nestle USA. He had the opportunity to work on brands such as Coffee-mate and Tollhouse.
