Natural Resources Conservation Service
Brissa Bailon, Agricultural Operations Management Student
What was involved/what was your role during your internship?
I was a Soil Conservation Intern who spent the summer learning about NRCS cost-share programs that help private landowners conserve the water, soil, and other natural resources on their lands.
What was the best/your favorite part about completing this internship?
Meeting with producers and seeing how everyone is doing things differently but all in the goals of production.
What are the benefits of an internship?
I've learned so much in my time here and have felt useful. I know this agency serves the whole country so my little drop in the bucket ends up helping the whole USA.
Why would you recommend internships to other students?
I do recommend applying for any experiences you want to see if what you think you want, is actually what you could see yourself doing even if just for a little bit after college. Also the more connections you make, the more you can reach back out and get a good word as you move forward in your career.
