UF/IFAS ABE energy-related extension programs include areas of renewable and bio-based materials as well as efficiency in energy use and outreach with utilities. Topic areas include state-of-the-art conversion technologies from sustainable biowaste (agricultural residues and forestry biomass) to value-added bioproducts including biofuel, biochemicals and functional biomaterials. Utility and development related energy outreach from ABE is primarily conducted through the Program for Resource Efficient Communities (PREC).
