All ABE department-owned computers have VMWare Horizon either preinstalled or available for install via the Software Center application. You may also use the IFAS VDI web client. (link to web interface)

After accepting the disclaimer on either client, you will be prompted to sign in using your Gatorlink and Gatorlink password. You will be asked for a two-factor authentication preference on the next screen. Authenticate your login, and then you will be granted access to the VDI.

To share files between the VDI and your physical computer, you must change these settings on the VMWare Horizon desktop client. Currently, the only File Transfer option available to web-client users is the upload function.

First, in the VMWare Horizon client, select Options from the toolbar at the top of the screen, and then click Share Folders.

The Options screen will pop up, with focus on the Share Folders tab. This is where you may select folders from the physical drive of the computer you are using to access the VDI. Once selected, these folders will show in File Explorer within the VDI, and all files saved to the physical drive folder will be accessible once disconnected from the VDI.
