CRS Intensive Course for Taiwanese Delegation: May 2026
The Center for Remote Sensing hosted its annual intensive course on Remote Sensing and GIS in Hydrology for a visiting delegation from Taiwan. The program welcomed 13 participants and provided in-depth training through lectures, discussions, and hands-on learning experiences focused on the application of geospatial technologies to water resources research and management. This long-standing partnership continues to promote international collaboration, knowledge exchange, and professional development while strengthening connections between the University of Florida and the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage (ICID)-Chinese Taipei Committee (CTC) based in Taiwan.

CRS Affiliate Faculty Retreat: April 23, 2026 | 8:00 AM-2:00 PM
The CRS Affiliate Faculty Retreat brought together both new and long-standing affiliate faculty to strengthen connections and foster collaboration. The program focused on generating innovative ideas for funding opportunities and advancing joint efforts in research, extension, and outreach. Held at the Straughn Center in Gainesville, the retreat provided a collaborative environment for sharing perspectives and identifying new directions for interdisciplinary engagement.

Webinar - Future Directions at NASA Earth Science: Wednesday, March 25, 2026 | 10:00-11:30 AM
The Center for Remote Sensing hosted a webinar titled Future Directions at NASA Earth Science, featuring Dr. Thomas Wagner, Associate Director for Earth Action in NASA’s Earth Sciences Division. In this session, Dr. Wagner shared insights into the evolving landscape of NASA's Earth Science programs, highlighting emerging initiatives and funding opportunities.

UF Water Institute Symposium Session: February 24-26, 2026
As part of the UF Water Institute Symposium, the Center for Remote Sensing hosted a session titled New Frontiers of Remote Sensing in Hydrology. The symposium brought together researchers, faculty, and students for dynamic, "café-style" conversations focused on advancing water science and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Held at the J. Wayne Reitz Union on the University of Florida campus, the session highlighted emerging applications of remote sensing in hydrology and fostered meaningful dialogue across disciplines.
