Production, Characterization and Application of Green composites
Objectives
- Prepare high-value or low-cost green composite from waste lignocellulosic materials (sugarcane, sweet sorghum, eucalyptus, etc.) reclaimed from bio-refinery processes
- Develop physical and chemical approaches to optimize the inter-bonding between Lignocellulosic materials and the biopolymer matrix for improved properties
- Evaluate the produced green composites’ value to partially or entirely replace their petroleum-based counterparts in application areas such as light-weight structural materials, packaging, coating areas, as well as soil amendment.
