Hydrology & Water Quality Program

This program, led by Dr. Rafael Muñoz-Carpena at the Department of Agricultural & Biological Engineering, is to conduct Research and Teaching that focus on integrated environmental systems analysis and modelling, including interactions between hydrological, ecological and human components, and global sensitivity and uncertainty analysis of these integrated systems.

Research emphasis is on hydrologic processes, and includes water management and hydrologic field and modeling studies of contaminant transport, transformation and fate processes. We study water pollution control practices that improve the compatibility of agriculture and other human land uses with the surrounding natural ecosystem.

Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate course instruction and development, and graduate student advising in the area of hydrology, water resources, and integrated modeling in the Agricultural and Biological Engineering Department.
