Graduate Research Assistant, Agricultural and Biological Engineering
Research focus: Using micro-irrigation and micro-sprinklers to reduce water use for strawberry establishment and freeze protection in Florida, aiming to decrease the pressure on freshwater resources.
Education: currently a Ph.D. student in Interdisciplinary Ecology at the University of Florida; M.Sc. in Agricultural and Biological Engineering focusing on GIS and climatology from the University of Florida (2019).
Josue St. Fort earned his bachelor’s degree in agricultural engineering at the State University of Haiti in 2015. He obtained a master’s degree in agricultural and biological engineering with a focus on GIS and climatology at the University of Florida in 2019. In August 2021, he began his Ph.D. at the University of Florida in the program of Interdisciplinary Ecology, from the School of Natural Resources and Environment. His research focuses on using micro-irrigation and micro-sprinklers to reduce water use for strawberry establishment and freeze protection in Florida. Josue’s goal is to alleviate the pressure on freshwater resources for agricultural purposes. His broader interests include water conservation technologies, water-smart irrigation systems, and modeling.
