Isabella PlumierPh.D. Student / Graduate Research Assistant, Agricultural and Biological EngineeringResearch focus: Measurement and modeling of leaching rain events under different soil and climate settings. Education:
|
Originally from a Belgian-Polish family, Isabella grew up in Belgium, where she developed a strong interest in science, the environment, and contributing meaningfully to today’s global challenges. She earned both her Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Sciences (Bioengineering focus) and her Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences and Technologies from UCLouvain (Université Catholique de Louvain), graduating magna cum laude in 2024. Her master’s research focused on hydrological processes in wetland ecosystems, studying the water balance dynamics in the sub-wetlands of Palo Verde National Park in Costa Rica. This experience deepened her curiosity for research and hydrological modeling. Since May 2025, Isabella has been a Ph.D. student in Agricultural and Biological Engineering at the University of Florida, working with Dr. Vivek Sharma and Dr. Rafael Muñoz-Carpena. Her project, “Measurement and Modeling of Leaching Rain Events under Different Soil and Climate Settings,” explores the mechanisms of leaching rainfall and its broader implications for water quality, irrigation, and sustainable land management. |
