Introduction to ASABE Robotics Student Design Competition

The American Society of Agricultural & Biological Engineers (ASABE) Robotics Competition is a student design competition held annually since 2006. The aim of this competition, as the founder of the competition Prof. Tony Grift said, is to encourage undergraduate as well as graduate students to develop innovative robotic solutions to real life problems in the agriculture area.

Join us in 2018 Competition

Registration of the 2018 competition is open now. We (UF) will form a robotics team this year consisting of 4-5 students (undergrads/grads) to compete. Please join us if you are interested. 2018 Robotics Competition Rules can be found here:Final Rules and Updates and Q&A

Preferred Skills and Experience:

Experience with 3D drawing software (eg. SolidWorks) is preferred;

Experience with microcontrollers (eg. arduino, raspberrypi, etc.) is preferred;

Any programming experience (C, C++, Python, etc.) will be very helpful;

2017 UF ABE robotics team

In 2017, we formed a team of 4 students to compete in the competition in Spokane, Washtington. We placed 4th in the competition. The team members include: Eduardo Carrascal, Shirin Ghatrehsamani, Akram Gholami, Tyler Poon.
