Impact of Climate and Landuse Change on
Shoreline-dependent Bird Populations.
Climate change is expected to significantly alter
low-lying coastal and intertidal areas, which
provide significant seasonal habitat for a variety
of shoreline-dependent bird populations. Many
coastal military installations in Florida contain
significant coastal habitat that will potentially be
impacted by climate change.

The objective of this work was to develop a systematic tool to explore
climate variability and change effects on habitat and population dynamics for
Snowy Plover and Piping Plover on selected coastal Florida military sites.
