Technology to measure soil moisture has advanced considerably during the past decade. There are many new devices on the market that are highly accurate and can continuously monitor soil water. Soil Southern Region Extension Water Quality Conferencemoisture-based irrigation scheduling saves considerable irrigation water compared with the calendar or "feel" methods. The objectives of this workshop are to educate specialists and county agents about the new devices and provide them with resource material they can use to transfer the technology to their agricultural or horticultural clientele.
